At the Zoo

It's not often that we get to spend the weekend with orangutans, lions, lemurs and the good people of the South, but the Jazzoo Festival gave us that opportunity.

We escaped the ten inches of rain in Chicago this weekend for a very memorable festival in Atlanta. Playing at the zoo makes you feel like you're seven years old again - except this field trip to the zoo included a lot of free beer.

We got to share the stage with some great songwriters from Atlanta, and our friend Peter Olson played with us, too, which was a real treat. I believe I've mentioned his band YOU in this Internet diary before, but if not, check out some of Atlanta's finest at www.pleaserock.com. "The Physics of Giving" has made its way on to the list of my most favorite tunes.

To everyone that we met at the zoo this weekend, thanks for making it such a great trip filled with Southern hospitality. Back in Chicago now where that autumn chill is finally sneaking into the air, which I've been anxiously awaiting for a while now.
