Blog & News:
my week in new york
Good morning folks,This blog comes to you live from the window of a coffeeshop in Chicago (this is where you go when you can't steal Internet at home). Currently listening to Feist's "The Reminder." Brandy Alexander is my song of the week.
I spent the last week in New York, writing songs with good friends, exploring the city and clearing my mind. It seems like an odd concept - to travel to a city of 12 million to clear my thoughts. But it definitely worked. Such a beautiful week.
I went to Tarrytown on Sunday, which is a charming town about 30 minutes north of the city, and saw Josh Ritter and his band. What an incredible show. Josh is working on a new record, and the new tunes sound better than ever. They're off the road for a while, but be sure to check them out if/when they come to a town a near you.
Myspace allows anyone to upload 10 songs now - what a kind Internet service. I posted some old tunes along with a new one this morning called "So Long, So Soon."
If you're around your computer this evening at 8 PM (Central Time, I believe) or reside in the Milwaukee area, WUWM 89.7 FM is airing the show from last week in Cedarburg. The show was a lot of fun, and this recording will include me answering questions, telling stories and making mistakes on the guitar. Many thanks to Bruce Winter, everyone at WUWM and the folks at the Cedarburg Cultural Center for making the show happen.
I believe that's all for now. Hope that everyone is well and enjoying the beginning of the spring.
Cheers,
David
